Artwork Description

Pilbara Return" is an abstract, textured artwork that captures the essence of the Pilbara region from an aerial perspective. I often viewed the landscape from the airplane window seat crossing back from overseas and contemplated life below wondering what was happening or what had happened in the past to leave these marks.
The canvas is a vibrant tapestry of yellow, orange, and red hues, reflecting the intense heat and rugged beauty of the Australian outback.

Artist Bio

Hi there,
My name is Tony ( signed Tonke ).I’m based here in the Southwest of Western Australia. I have lived here most of my life, apart from a few years working and living abroad.
I am an abstract artist who draws inspiration from the world as we know it. My journey is fueled by curiosity and creativity.
Sometimes it is conceptual and detailed.Sometimes it is about letting go and what ever comes to mind so I try different ways of what I want to convey.
Having studied fine arts in high school and a design course at TAFE, then completing manual arts in college my career has spanned from building, shipwrighting and fine furniture over the years.I rediscovered my passion for art after having some down time and producing some works for fun. Surprisingly I sold quite a few at a local exhibition so I’ve been painting ever since.

My goal is to create artworks that lift a room and are appreciated for years to come.I like the fact that people can simply look at my art and feel connected through their own memories and feelings.
You won’t have lengthy descriptions of my artworks as I invite viewers to embark on their own introspective explorations of my pieces .I do however give thought’s on what has inspired me.

Thank you for taking the time to view my artworks.
