Artwork Description

Breaking light, strong and expressive colors of orange, hot pinks and fluro combinations give an intense heat to the the painting which Ive used as the indicator for the horizon line.
I wanted to balance the intense warm colors with muted blue and purple and a burgundy /indigo combination as shadows and an indicating of land formations.
The left side is in cooler tones of blue and purple combinations with a small section of light blue to just give a pop of a skyline. The right side has been dragged out and upwards with warmer tones, washes and glazes mediums with some palette knife and sponge work.
This one is stretched on an aluminum custom frame, made by the Sydney art store, a little more expensive but in the long term, well worth it.
The finish is a UV satin sealer with sides finished in white.

Artist Bio

Hi everyone, I work for my studio on the Gold Coast and I'm an an abstract expressionist artist also exploring some abstract figurative work which I enjoy.
Painting for me is like food, it nourishes the soul, has to be done every day with loads of variations, always seeking new concepts to create a broad base of ecliptic subject matter expressed in color.
I like the element of surprise with the composition planed to some degree yet still allowing spontaneous flow.
My process can be intensive with multiple layers creating depth and vibrancy, heavy textures, gestural brush strokes, palette knife and wet into wet applications that’s always exciting with unexpected color combinations.
Not all my work is bright, I also like earthy tones and the balancing of cool and warm hues with textural elements.
Ive explores a range of techniques which I’ve storing in my arsenal and the common thread thru my work would be colorful, bold, bespoke abstract  with impact and  texture.

Im happy to work with a collect to design a bespoke piece for their interior space, color scheme and I love LARGE SCALE ABSTRACT commissions, the larger the better.

I use a range of quality paint, Golden, Hydrocryl, Matisse, oil, Gamblins cold wax, oil stick and charcoals are used in my work, with a UV sealer or cold wax. Frames are custom made pine ;also I use Victorian Ash kiln dry on request - just a tad more expensive.
Quality 4 x primed poly pro cotton canvas and linen available on request.

Since 2016 I’ve been doing private commissions, participating at RQAS, Raw Events Gold Coast 2016 and bespoke artwork for Boutique apartments locally on the Gold Coast.

My inspiration for Judith Murray, Brian Rutenburg, Gustof Limt and Salvador Dali.
