Broken Granite # 4 Rolled canvas

Broken Granite 4, contemporary statement expressed in patten, form and flow in keeping with navy, indigo and cooper gold theme. It’s inspired by the land and formation of rocks.
Each time I paint these the process is altered which produces a slight different and interesting formate.
I’m always surprised by how each painting has its own personality by manipulated the paint to create interesting organic movement.
The base is a deep navy blending with cooper which creates a lovely muted puiter color, against the lighter pale navy blues and golds.
Brush work with direction flow and areas of transferred Color’s patterns to soften transitions and supports lighter reflect which that have been skimmed over the darker tones.
A cool beige/white with a hint of navy blue to give a dusky almost misty sense of light.
Can be hung landscape or portrait.

Hi everyone, I work for my studio on the Gold Coast and I'm an an abstract expressionist artist also exploring some abstract figurative work which I enjoy.
Painting for me is like food, it nourishes the soul, has to be done every day with loads of variations, always seeking new concepts to create a broad base of ecliptic subject matter expressed in color.
I like the element of surprise with the composition planed to some degree yet still allowing spontaneous flow.
My process can be intensive with multiple layers creating depth and vibrancy, heavy textures, gestural brush strokes, palette knife and wet into wet applications that’s always exciting with unexpected color combinations.
Not all my work is bright, I also like earthy tones and the balancing of cool and warm hues with textural elements.
Ive explores a range of techniques which I’ve storing in my arsenal and the common thread thru my work would be colorful, bold, bespoke abstract  with impact and  texture.

Im happy to work with a collect to design a bespoke piece for their interior space, color scheme and I love LARGE SCALE ABSTRACT commissions, the larger the better.
 
I use a range of quality paint, Golden, Hydrocryl, Matisse, oil, Gamblins cold wax, oil stick and charcoals are used in my work, with a UV sealer or cold wax. Frames are custom made pine ;also I use Victorian Ash kiln dry on request - just a tad more expensive.

Since 2016 I’ve been doing private commissions, participating at RQAS, Raw Events Gold Coast 2016 and bespoke artwork for Boutique apartments locally on the Gold Coast.
