Artwork Description

This piece draws on my deep connection to the Australian landscape and an enduring fascination with how light transforms natural environments. Influences include the tonal subtlety of Australian Impressionism, atmospheric layering , contemporary landscape abstraction that seeks to evoke place through mood rather than literal detail. The Noosa River setting—unique to the hinterland—provides a vibrant palette of greens, ochres, pinks, and blues, reflecting seasonal changes and the ephemeral play of sunlight. At its heart, Summer Rain, Noosa River is an exploration of memory, immersion, and the quiet yet powerful presence of nature.

The materials used include fixed soft pastel as underpainting, charcoal, cold wax and oil with sgraffito. All materials are of archival quality. The surface is 300 gsm colourfix paper and can be framed either by the collector, or framed by Bluethumb.

Artist Bio

Dear art collectors,

You are warmly invited to contact Tracey-ann via Bluethumb to discuss commissions or enquire about current projects and emerging available works. She welcomes collaborations and is happy to support special orders for new and returning collectors.
________________________________________________________________________________________________

Originally from Melbourne, Tracey-ann relocated to Noosa Heads on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast ten years ago, where the surrounding natural beauty continues to inspire her artistic journey. Working both en plein air and in the studio, she draws deeply on the atmosphere and spirit of the natural environment. Her creative process often begins with photographing the ocean, hinterland rainforests, and the outback, gathering visual and emotional impressions that later evolve into richly layered artworks.

Tracey-ann’s mixed media practice embraces high-quality, archival materials including acrylic, Indian ink, alcohol inks, natural avocado seed ink, fixed charcoal, oil paint, cold wax medium, fixed soft pastel, and watercolour. Through these mediums, she explores texture, transparency, and the subtle interplay of light and mood.

Her intention is to evoke a sense of peace and connection — inviting viewers to feel at one with nature through her atmospheric interpretations of the Australian landscape.

In order to keep costs low for collectors, artwork is created using high quality archival materials, with the option of purchasing without framing. All canvas paintings are ready to hang and have clean finished edges, as shown in the images in the curation. Paintings completed on paper are fixed and are ready to frame. Many collectors prefer to source their framing locally. Collectors can also use the framing service provided by Bluethumb during the purchasing process.
All paintings are sent using the Bluethumb courier system, are carefully packed and come with a completed certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist and then securely sent to collectors.
