Hi there - thanks for stopping by and checking out my work.
I am a mostly self taught artist living in Central Queensland, Australia with a love of depicting the unique local land and seascapes, flora and fauna, usually from my own reference photos. Other subjects I touch on are animal and botanical portraits as well as figures in the landscape, sometimes done in a series of works in mixed formats. I also like to depict scenes that catch my eye from different road trips around Australia, with a lot of these from the passenger seat viewpoint!
My passion is painting pretty pictures in my favourite medium of oil paint either in soft built up layers or in a more immediate and textured way with a palette knife.
The area where I live is rich in beautiful tropical beaches and offshore islands, with dry rocky headlands as well as lush tropical hinterland dotted with extinct volcanic mountains. I am constantly inspired by the light and colour of tropical sunsets and storm clouds.
