Bob is a French puppet who comes to life on the streets of Quimper in Brittany, France. Dressed in a sailor’s shirt and a scarf to keep out the chill, he greets children, lifts his quill, dips it into ink, and begins to paint. Time seems to pause, adults watch in quiet fascination, while the youngest stand wide-eyed and speechless. Some, gathering their courage, timidly wave back. Behind the strings is Raphaël Gromy, a puppeteer who delights in street performance.
