I started with the idea of magnolias (whose meaning is lined with nobility and perseverance) and starlings (which symbolise freedom and unity). Then I blend versions of both with a woman's face to create something that hopefully makes the viewer explore and respond to the painting with a smile.
My artwork will be unavailable for 4 months as I will be in Florence on a contemporary art course- something I've wanted to do for years. Please watch this space as I expect my art will change or evolve over this time. Tracey is an artist who likes to constantly explore different styles, techniques and subject matter. She is equally intrigued by the light play on a landscape as she is with the complexities of being a human. At the heart of every painting is a passionate and playful exploration of texture and colour.
