Possibilities

This work is my absolute favourite out of the Blue Boy series, which has just finished a successful exhibition in Newcastle.
Blue Boy was born, and he was different, and they called him a God. "Possibilities" shows the point in Blue Boy's life when he starts to believe the hype and starts to consider that maybe he really is a God. This series of artworks were a contemplation on the cult of personality and the nature of power.
This particular painting depicts Blue Boy trying out his power by asking people to come and hear him speak. Does power equal influence?
