Artwork Description

View from a lookout called Split Rock due to the large rock that has naturally split apart. This is located near Hill End, the historic gold mining town in country NSW where I have spent some time. A very windy position so this was painted from some photos of the view later, but it was a stunning view of the undulating hills , gum trees and scuttling clouds.

Artist Bio

Based in Sydney, Australia, I live in the creative and multicultural precinct of Sydney’s Inner West.
Born in Newcastle NSW I have been influenced by many years at the beach or in the bush, walking and observing our natural paradise.
I am a self taught artist since childhood but trained as a high school art teacher so practiced art for most of my life through either work or privately.
My creative and original artworks are defined by organic and linear shapes that merge and silhouette. They are usually devoid of figurative form and can verge into an imaginative landscape. The approach is layered and combines a variety of mediums drawn or painted over each other to construct the desired essence of my landscape. It is a landscape strongly influenced by an intuitive design sense.
My paintings have found homes in Newcastle, Brisbane , Port Pirie and Sydney.
