I have always been drawn to the night sky. Space humbles me, reminding me how small we truly are and how little our worries matter in the grand scale of things. Yet it also reminds me of our extraordinary luck: to be here, now, alive and aware.

This work is part of my Lucky Specks series, a celebration of our cosmic paradox. We are tiny, almost laughably small… and yet, we are here. We can feel joy, create beauty, and marvel at the stars. Through space-inspired textures, symbolic creatures, and luminous fragments, Lucky Specks invites you to let go of life’s weight and remember how rare and wondrous your existence is.

Visually, Beneath the Surface brings space to explore, various blues in space and underwater offer calm, while vibrant gold details spark curiosity and wonder. Layers of charcoal, inks, spray paint, acrylics, and rich oils create a textured surface full of depth and complexity. The edges are painted on quality gallery wrapped canvas, the surface varnished, and it is ready to hang.

This painting offers more than beauty, it offers space to breathe, and a reminder to celebrate every moment, to remind ourselves how extraordinary we truly are.
