I am curious about how we perceive and experience colour and the subjective feelings, emotions and meanings attached to colour. For this painting my focus was on the atmospheric phenomena of the sky during twilight - the colours we see, and our sensory experience. Using thin washes of acrylic paint, I wanted to evoke the natural beauty of a soft sunset over water.

I am an artist based in Perth, originally from regional Western Australia.

For as long as I can remember I have been a wanderer and a dreamer, with a great love of nature. My current art practice reflects an ongoing response to my everyday environment and a desire to experiment with colour and materials. Walking, photography and sketching are my main methods of gathering source material. Combined with memory and imagination, I develop works using watercolour, gouache, acrylic paint and an assortment of drawing materials.
