In 2018 I was lucky enough to undertake an artist residency in Crete where I painted a mural on the streets of Lakkos, Iraklion. While I was over in that dazzling part of the world I spent 4 days on Santorini wandering the streets with my husband and at every turn inspiring views unfolded before us. It was, however, this scene we happened upon while walking from Imerovigli to Fira which totally captivated me and I knew I would paint it one day. I think every artist who has been there has tried to capture Santorini's beauty and it could be said that paintings of this island have become perhaps a little hackneyed. I disagree as I believe beauty can never become trite so here is my own ode to that beautiful island.
