I'm fascinated by the compositions, patterns and natural formations I notice throughout the natural world. I'm drawn to the way colour, texture, shape and pattern come together, from weathered surfaces and stone to water and landscape. These observations often become the starting point for my paintings.
Working in acrylic and mixed media, I build and remove layers, allowing marks to appear, disappear and shift as the work develops. I don't set out to recreate what I see, but to interpret it through abstraction.
I work from my home studio in langwarrin, Melbourne, surrounded by native bushland and the animals I share my home with.
Since 2009, I've exhibited throughout Melbourne and Sydney, and my paintings are held in private collections across Australia, Europe and the United States.
