Indigo Drift — Original abstract on woven canvas

This small study presents pools of deep indigo and soot-gray floating over a warm, sand-toned ground. Layered washes and delicate pigment blooms produce soft-edged forms that reveal new details as you change your viewing angle. The exposed weave of the fabric lends a tactile quality, while concentrated marks add moments of contrast and rhythm.

I’m an intuitive mixed media artist who works in a loose abstract gestural style.

I think of my artwork as part of an ongoing exploration of the use of colour, line and pattern. Having been an interior designer who specialised in colour in residential interiors I’m looking to create pieces with a sense of harmony, rhythm and feeling whilst not overwhelming a space. Most of my pieces tend to evoke the landscape in unusual and unexpected ways and I am always hoping to create a a sense of balance and rest.
