LOST IN THE CLOUDS

Driving to my final Newbridge art-group meetup, overwhelmed by anxious thoughts about leaving friends and family behind with a baby on-the-way. Reflecting on transient nature of clouds to realise that change is the only constant in life. This painting explores the evolving mood of cloudscapes as they serendipitously elevate a docile landscape.

Usha Bachhil is a contemporary realist full-time artist living in Sydney. who paints
predominantly in oils, her preferred method of working is primarily from life under
natural light and shadow. Drawing and painting has always seemed magical for her
especially being able to capture lighting and mood.
Usha’s work explores the beauty of still life from objects and things around her life. She
focuses on capture the beauty and simplicity that we normally overlook and rarely
appreciate. Much of her work uses balanced composition with a sense of tranquility. She
also enjoys exploring other subject matters such as flowers, animals, figure, landscape
using different mediums.
