Artwork Description

I love to capture the natural environment in a unique and abstract way - rather than portraying a subject as a whole, I love to focus on the play between light and shadow, textures, and patterns to create a mood or a feeling.

I find that the beauty derives not from the subject itself, but from its shapes, textures or colours. With this image I utilised a slow shutter, capturing the light to enhance a sense of movement and dance and is part of an ongoing series “The Dances of our Dreams”

Other sizes available on request. Please contact me for alternative custom sizes.

Please note that this image is printed with a 5cm white border for ease of framing.

Artist Bio

Ushi Grant is a photographer based in the beautiful region of Central Victoria, having made the tree-change from city life in Melbourne. Ushi's work has been exhibited in group shows nationally and internationally.

Ushi uses photography to explore and find moments in our urban life that celebrate the magic of people in their everyday activities She finds inspiration all around her....in quirky moments, subtle human interactions or simply the fleeting dance of light and shadow.

Ushi also explores the seemingly mundane urban and industrial landscapes that often bypassed by the casual observer. Through the use of color, light and shadow she examines and captures the essential geometry of our urban spaces.

Since relocating to the country, Ushi has been exploring the local landscapes - with a focus on blending the aesthetics of abstraction and minimalism. Her images blur the lines between reality and imagination.

Ushi's work has been exhibited in group shows, both nationally and internationally.
