I’m drawn to shapes, colours and textures and love to find abstractions of geometric shapes and juxtapositions that are created by light and shadow.

With this ongoing work of minimalist-style images, part art / part street, I explore the seemingly mundane urban landscapes that often go unnoticed by the casual observer. The dance of light and shadow can evoke narratives within these urban landscapes.

Ushi Grant is a photographer based in the beautiful region of Central Victoria, having made the tree-change from city life in Melbourne. Ushi's work has been exhibited in group shows nationally and internationally.

Ushi uses photography to explore and find moments in our urban life that celebrate the magic of people in their everyday activities She finds inspiration all around her....in quirky moments, subtle human interactions or simply the fleeting dance of light and shadow.

Ushi also explores the seemingly mundane urban and industrial landscapes that often bypassed by the casual observer. Through the use of color, light and shadow she examines and captures the essential geometry of our urban spaces.

Since relocating to the country, Ushi has been exploring the local landscapes - with a focus on blending the aesthetics of abstraction and minimalism. Her images blur the lines between reality and imagination.

Ushi's work has been exhibited in group shows, both nationally and internationally.
