Her latest achievement includes being a finalist at the Perth Royal Art Prize for Landscape 2022 with the Painting "Forest Dreaming" and being the Winner of the "Unknown Land" Photo Competition 2016 Art Gallery WA .
Her works are in collections all over Australia , Norway , Germany and USA California.
She has had several solo Exhibition in Perth and Fremantle WA , exhibited at the Chilli Rooms Gallery in Sydney and is a regular entrant into the Cossack Art Award WA, Sir John Sulman Art Prize NSW and West Australian Art Awards and Competitions.
Ute Maria ECKEL is an artist based in Perth, Western Australia and is originally from Bavaria in Germany. There she worked for an prestigious Antiquariat in Munich restoring and hand-colouring antique maps, atlases and graphics by famous cartographers and engravers.
She migrated to Australia in 1995 and began to develop her own artistic practice in oils and acrylics.
As a very visual person, she loves visiting diverse places and being exposed to unexpected impressions. Much of her motivation in her artistic work comes from exploring different cultures, eras and moods. Ute Maria ECKEL paintings are drawn from a range of exotic locations, impressions and features from around the world and Australia.
