Artwork Description

This artwork depicts a grandmother's grief at the loss of connection with her granddaughters. One hand has already let go in recognition of the futility of trying to hold on. The other reaches out in hope for reconciliation. I have painted this for all those grandparents who have lost access or contact with their beloved grandchildren through no fault of their own. We are connected through our grief and my hope is that you will be reunited in the future.

Artist Bio

I am a silk painter and watercolour artist and in my work I seek to capture the beauty of our environment and the wildlife and plant life, in particular where that species is becoming rare or endangered. My silk paintings are very unique and come pinned on white foam board which showcases the vibrancy of the inks and makes them easy to transport. In contrast, my watercolours use subtle colours and light to give a mystical quality to my work. More recently i have made the transition to oils and am enjoying the depth and detail this brings to my work.
I feel fortunate to live and paint in the beautiful South West of Western Australia.
