This charcoal drawing, titled 'Decommissioned Past' explores the loss of one's memory. A heartbreaking dementia diagnosis impacts a victims entire life, including damaging rich relationships, experiences, memories and love. I have represented the intricate link between people and their mind through the rigidly shaped memory engulfing her, with fragments indicating missing pieces from her mind. This work encapsulates the constant mental anguish that victims experience whilst battling this incurable disease.
