Beginnings of Power

This painting was inspired by where it all began - the coal-fired power industry in the Latrobe Valley. As the power stations close, and the skyline changes this encapsulates the very beginning of the rapid development of industry that brought prosperity but environmental decline., the intertwined narratives of economic growth and environmental transformation that have shaped the landscape and the lives of those who call the Latrobe Valley home.
