Having spent 27 years on the Yorkshire moors where often the light was subdued and the sky overcast, Valerie arrived in Australia and was immediately struck by the brilliant light and intense colours of the landscape.
The coastline, inland waterways and the Australian outback have been a constant source of inspiration for Valerie's paintings. She is not content with one style or technique and responds to her subject matter from very realistic to semi-abstract images. Her main aim is to produce work that her clients find bright, cheerful and uplifting.
Valerie studied art in the UK ( Newcastle, Coventry, and London) but her painting career was established in South Australia. She has exhibited widely in Australia and Overseas and her work is represented in government, private and corporate collections.
