Artwork Description

Acrylic Paint on stretched canvas, all complete and ready to hang on your wall.

Framed in an environmentally friendly, floating reclaimed natural Victorian Ash Hardwood Timber.
Reclaimed wood will have certain aged characteristics and patinas, including old nail holes, knots, shakes, burrs etc, this is part of the eco friendly timber frame design and not a fault.
Every frame is individual, no two will ever be the same.

Signed on the back including a Certificate of Authenticity.

Inspired by my travel through the United Kingdom. The history, the residential, industrial and commercial architecture, etched by the sometimes harsh weather, and the grey blue skies as a backdrop.
So good to see, feel and touch all the surfaces, steeped in history.
I try and capture the spirit of the past Architects, Designers and Builders and their robust attitude, with the elements they faced.

Artist Bio

Valerie Melder has her studio in Highett, Bayside Melbourne and has been painting for over 15years. She finds her passion in Acrylic painting, but has been known to stray outside this medium, and experiment with Pastel and other mediums and surfaces, she uses brushes, palette knives, spatulas, her hands, fingers, her mind and her heart, always finding perfection in the imperfection. Her style develops and changes as she evolves in her artistic sojourn.
Valerie has traveled extensively and her passion for painting is reflected in her experiences of travel. Valerie believes that art has to be first and foremost fun and a visual entertainment for the eyes. Her artwork is held in private collections all over Australia, Asia, the UK and Europe.
Her works range from Abstract Botanicals, Industrial Buildings, Urban Streetscapes, to Portraits, where she observes life with all it's love, intrigue, beauty, lust and madness. Valerie's artworks can be left as a canvas original painting, with all edges painted, or, framed with a floating solid environmentally friendly reclaimed Victoria Ash Timber. Her choice of framing to help combat global warming, and help retain Australia's old growth forests.
