Still Life with Glass Vessel

Still life with glass vessel is part of a still life series I have been exploring. Looking at pattern, colour and texture and how they interplay with each other. This series of calming scenes and neutral palettes followed on from my garden party collection, which were full of plants, and vases and lots of life. This collection represented the lack of parties during the last few years and was an exploration into those moments you truly find yourself with time on your own to think and appreciate the small details in life.

Original acrylic painting on canvas, framed in a lovely raw flooded gum by the team @southern_buoy in the Mornington Peninsula, that compliments the colours beautifully.

I'm Vanessa, a Melbourne based artist.

I am obsessed with plants, interiors and painting.

My work features an eclectic mix of found objects, textures and fabrics, to create compositions that are a toast to the everyday enjoyment of life.

Vanessa studied art and design but is mostly a self taught painter and has exhibited in group shows around Australia. A finalist in the Weswal Gallery 'Inty' Interior Art Prize 2024 and 2025, the Art to Art Unearthed Art Prize 2024 and 2023, and named Directors Choice winner at Aspire Gallery, 2022. Vanessa's work can be found at Artlovers Australia, Collingwood, online with Bluethumb art, and in a number of retail stores around Australia.
