This work was inspired by a magnificent angophora on a bush walk near my home in the lower Blue Mountains. Its focus is the colours on the lower trunk, which varied from oranges to yellows and browns and purple hues. This tree is very special to me and I assume by its size and girth very old.
The warm yellows, oranges and browns in this painting evoke an Australian summer.
