This work is a triptych (work in three parts), painted 'en plein air' depicting the daily unfolding of the flowers of a Magnolia tree in my garden last spring. The three parts of the work are joined by brass hinges. It is best displayed on a flat surface, spreading out like a screen, although it can also be hung from a wall.
