Artwork Description

A solitary boat drifts across a boundless blue expanse, its hull glinting softly in the sun. The sky stretches endlessly above, dotted with birds gliding gracefully, riding the invisible currents of the wind. Every textured stroke of oil paint evokes motion—the rippling water, the stirring breeze, the light dancing on waves—immersing the viewer in a moment of serene liberation. The scene captures both stillness and movement, a quiet symphony of air, water, and sky, inviting a feeling of openness, adventure, and the exhilarating simplicity of being carried by the wind.

Artist Bio

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to visit my page!

I am a self-taught artist based in Perth, Western Australia. My work is rooted in Impressionism, with a strong focus on landscapes, while also allowing space for experimentation with abstract and minimalist figurative forms.

I have been painting since childhood, and over time my style has evolved into a blend of classic Impressionist techniques and modern vibrancy. While largely self-taught, I have taken classes and workshops with various artists over the years and continue to study and learn through ongoing instruction. I primarily work with oil on canvas and wood panels, using varied underpainting methods and thick, textured brushstrokes to capture the shifting moods of nature.

I draw inspiration from the diverse landscapes of Western Australia — from bright, open beaches to the deep blues of the Indian Ocean. Alongside landscape painting, I also explore abstract minimalist and figurative art as a way to celebrate Australian nature beyond literal representation.

My aim is not only to express what I see, but what I feel — translating light, movement, and emotion into color and texture.
