This painting is based on a photograph I took while on a photo tour to Karijini National Park in Western Australia. The bright colours and textures of Karijini inspired me to paint my own interpretation of this stunning landscape.
This piece needs to be hung on a big wall to show it to its best advantage.

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
I have been drawing and painting since I was a little girl and clearly remember returning home after a trip overseas with my mum and sister to find that my dad had set up a little table in my room with fresh paper and some paints for me to use. I couldn’t wait to get started!
I was born in Cape Town, South Africa and am now based in Ballarat, Australia. Previously I lived and worked in several different countries around the world and I am inspired by my travels. I love to paint what I have seen, often based on my photographs.
Currently I paint with acrylics but also play around with watercolours, coloured pencils and pastels. I don’t want to restrict myself to only one medium, they are all fun to work with. I love bright colours and textures. I paint landscapes, abstracts and occasionally portraits and also enjoy experimenting with different techniques, such as acrylic pouring.
Previously I was commissioned to paint three Buddy Bear sculptures for two German Embassies, in Jakarta and Ouagadougou. The Buddy Bears are hollow, fibre glass bear-shaped sculptures, 1m or 2m tall, painted by artists from around the world. The Bears, with paws held high and touching, signify peace and friendship between countries.
In future I want to paint more and exhibit my work. And perhaps enter the odd competition.
The main objective for me while painting is to enjoy the process and let my creativity “speak” through me. But when other people like my art and get continuous pleasure from looking at it, that’s what matters even more to me.
As done previously and what is particularly dear to my heart is that I would like to “give back” on an ongoing basis by donating 10% of profits from my artwork to worthy causes. These change; currently (early 2020) I want to support wildlife impacted by the bushfires in Australia, specifically the organisation Wildlife Victoria.
