Artwork Description

NOSTALGIA
This series drifts through the colours of another time, where lime green and electric orange burst onto the scene in the 1960s—bold, optimistic, and unapologetically bright. As the decade turns, these hues soften and deepen, settling into the familiar earth tones of the 1970s: avocado green and burnt orange.
These colours once lived everywhere—on refrigerators and countertops, across linoleum floors, in the hum of crockpots and the weight of hand-held mixers. They were not accents, but constants, woven into the everyday rhythms of domestic life.
Rooted in a growing desire for connection to nature, the palettes of the 1970s echoed the outdoors. Paired with wood panelling and organic textures, they created interiors that felt warm, grounded, and immersive—spaces where design and daily life quietly merged.

Artist Bio

I am an acrylic and mixed media artist who paints intuitively, allowing mood and emotion to guide each piece rather than a defined subject. My work sits between abstraction and realism, evolving through spontaneity and instinct rather than pre-planned outcomes.

Self-taught, I ave developed my practice through shared knowledge and experience gained from fellow artists. My work has been exhibited and sold through both physical and online galleries.

My process draws inspiration from the quiet ambiance of morning walks with my trusted companion, Zoro. While I occasionally use photographic reference, my work is primarily informed by memory and the emotional impressions experienced in nature. Through a balance of realism and impression, I aim to evoke a sense of atmosphere and emotional connection within the viewer.
