I am a self taught visual artist living in western suburbs of Brisbane. Creativity has always been with me but painting came later in life as a form of therapy after trauma. It was a way of expressing the emotions that could not be spoken. Now it is an enjoyable escape, my peace in which I lose myself totally.
My process involves many styles of art and I am inspired by the ambience seen while on morning walks with โDusty Dogโ my trusted companion. I am particularly drawn to the small inconspicuous pieces of nature and strive to give them a voice.
I work with acrylic and mixed media with my own references but ultimately relying on memory and feelings evoked from nature. I like an element of realism in my paintings as well as a splash of impressionistic spontaneity. I want my painting to be happy and evoke emotion.
