Blossom of Difference

My inspiration for this piece was a mixture of Peonies and Protea. I love the flowers and wanted to be able to exaggerated and emphasis just how impactful they can be with gold highlights.

This piece involved a long process of getting the background just write. With layers of the flowers and leaves and stalks constantly being worked and reworked.

Alcohol inks were used in order to get a real vibrant look for these flowers while adding acrylic paint and posca pens to highlight aspects which may have been overlooked.

Hi I am Vickie and I love to create.

I have a law degree and a background in analytical review, which makes for some interesting conversations when people find out I love to paint and create.
Vastly different to my background art was something I fell in love with at school, it was meant to be my bludge subject but it turned into something more. During school my work was entered into the ministers awards in QLD and since has received highly commended awards. After taking a few years off to study and build a career I feel back into are and its therapeutic like benefits.

I love creating pieces which are abstract and mixed media but I also love to challenge myself and paint more traditional styles of paintings such as landscapes and trees.
Creating art is my happy place, art is an experience that can lift your spirits help you to de stress and just help you get lost in time. This is the experience I want those who purchase my art to feel. I want my art to create something for the viewer, even if it is just 5 mins of reflection and time to themselves.
