Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

The aim was a very serene artwork that would hold space for the viewer, creating a relaxed breathing space in the home while speaking of seasonal produce, gardens and sun. This piece was extended play from a commission request, experimenting with composition. I had also long wanted to play with the lovely colour and window reflections in the green glass benchtop that I have in my studio, so this was ideal!

The composition reminded me of Japanese minimalist style, and the peaches brought back wonderful memories from a 2019 trip around southern Japan when the peaches were in season and we were treated to amazing ice cream made from fresh peaches, and the fruity peach-like scent of osmanthus trees all through the parks.

The green tones are a mix of turquoise/pthalo green with a little sap green and Naples yellow for warmth, so it will sit nicely with both cool greens and warm greens in your decor. It's close to duck egg or pastel green.
