At first breath this dry forest feels stark and hot, but sit with it a moment more and you see it is full of life and nuance, colour and cooling shadows. There's something about this kind of scrub that feels like home to me. I can be comfortable in the humble mess of it, like a warm family living room.
As I was standing back admiring the finished work, an ant crawled across the surface and up along a painted trunk and I knew exactly what the piece was missing! Did you find the little ant caravan?
In line with my sustainability policy, I prefer to provide artworks on unstretched linen which is one of the more sustainable fabrics and removes the need for plastic bubblewrap. It will arrive in a mailing tube - much easier for handling!
As this piece comes as unstretched linen it will require framing to hang. It's done on fine weave Italian linen with triple prime, and ample fabric margin for any framing choice.
