Flying Solo was taken at Bronte Beach in Sydney and captured during huge swells along Australia's east coast. East coast lows are intense low-pressure systems and can form at any time of the year typically occurring a few times each year. These storms bring damaging winds and surf and heavy rainfall but its an incredibly exciting time for any ocean and seascape photographer. Slow shutter or long exposure photography creates a sense of motion and captures ethereal and timeless imagery. By slowing it down the raw power of the ocean is calmed offering a sense of serenity.
