Artwork Description

This vibrant and evocative painting portrays a rich tapestry of symbols and imagery. Dominating the right side is a profile of a figure wearing a traditional headdress adorned with colorful feathers, their expression serene and contemplative. The headdress features intricate patterns and vibrant hues, conveying a sense of cultural significance and spirituality.

Above the figure, a dreamcatcher with colorful feathers and beads hangs against a clear blue sky, adding an ethereal quality to the scene. The strands of the dreamcatcher seem to drift softly, suggesting movement and a connection to the spiritual realm.

In the background, majestic rock formations rise from a desert landscape, painted with warm, earthy tones of orange, brown, and hints of purple and pink, creating a sense of depth and timelessness.

In the foreground, a circular motif contains the silhouette of a raven or similar bird, enveloped in swirling colors of green, blue, and purple, suggesting themes of transformation and mystery. The overall composition combines elements of nature, cultural heritage, and spirituality, creating a visually striking and thought-provoking piece.

Artist Bio

Hi there! Welcome to my whimsical world of art!

I live in the beautiful Australian suburb of Aldinga Beach.

I started painting in my younger years only to give in to the negativity and low self-esteem of my youth.
I never touched a paintbrush again until I semi-retired a few years ago.
I decided it was time to rediscover art!
I joined an art class and so my art journey began once again...

My art is purely for the good of my soul.
I would describe my art as quite intuitive art. I'm not so much connected with the highly trained or traditional, conventional art world. Sometimes I'll have an idea and a plan set in place and sometimes it's just undisciplined free flowing intuition. I love quirky, naive, comical, colourful and uplifting works. But I also want to express the darker side when it presents itself. Life is a mix of up and downs and it's rarely linear so that inspires my art. I love to experiment with different styles and techniques.

I read a quote from an artist who said there should be no rules in art and if there are, they are there to be broken. So, I'm breaking some rules here! I'm self taught so mistakes will be made and I'm OK with any imperfections because aren't we all just imperfect beings?
I find music inspires me as well. I will put my headphones on and let the music and intuitive ideas flow. I love the surprise of the end result.
Some of my favourite artists are Charles Blackman, Arthur Boyd, Del Kathryn Barton and Regina Noakes.

I also sometimes repurpose things like frames and cardboard for packaging my items to do my bit for the environment.

I do hope I can connect with people through my art and life experiences.
Most importantly, if nothing else, I imagine the humourous pieces bringing a smile to someone's face, even for a few seconds, whisking them away from their everyday worries. Please have a look at all my art on my Instagram page @vikadafoxart

Thank you for dropping by and having a look, you'll never know how much I appreciate it.
