I was born in Shanghai and migrated to Sydney in 2002. I am fascinated with drawing and painting ever since I was a child. I studied sketches, water colour and gouache at an evening art school every week for most of the years of my middle and high school time.
I obtained my BOA with major in Japanese and Business and started my career as an accounting professional at banks and Australian Diplomatic missions in China. Time is fleeting and art is long.
My passion for painting has never faded. Having two uncles being famous painters in China, I had the opportunity to paint on models and join plein air workshops with professional artists in a private art studio.
My paintings were exhibited in Expatriate artist show in Shanghai. And here in Sydney, I have been taking painting lessons at local community college and on line workshops.
I like painting a wide range of subjects including landscape, still life, and portraits. I try to achieve a good combination of both realism and impressionism and I like to leave some noticeable brushstrokes.
Australia is a beautiful country and I plan to paint more of her scenery and people. With my paintings, I express my shared love for this land.
