"I have a desire to paint a colourful world from which emanates joy, contentment and happiness.
My art is created to reveal my innermost feelings, a world without fear and each of my artworks is unique and I strive for this in every piece.
I have a great love of my country and its beautiful landscapes and uniqueness. Covering my landscapes in abstract flowers & trees in many of my works represents beauty in life and pleasure in the visual.
I also has a great love of mid century style, art and architecture and there are many of these influences in my art".
Virginia is a renowned artist whose artistic journey has traversed both the lens and the canvas. With a humble spirit and a journey marked by impressive accolades, Virginia has quietly made her mark in the world of contemporary art, showcasing a remarkable artistic evolution.
Born to a nuclear scientist father and an opera-singing librarian mother, Virginia's childhood in the picturesque Blue Mountains of New South Wales instilled in her an insatiable thirst for adventure and a profound appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us. Virginia's artistry has graced numerous prestigious exhibitions, including the 2021 Loud & Luminous Equality Exhibition at POP Gallery Fortitude Valley in Brisbane and the 2020 Loud & Luminous Exhibition in Canberra, ACT, where her portrait found a permanent place in a book in the National Library of Australia. Her artistic prowess has garnered her finalist positions in esteemed art prizes such as the Art Lovers Australia 2020 and 2021 Art Prize, the Bluethumb Art Prize 2021, and the Bluethumb Art Prize 2022.
