Artwork Description

This the third print of an edition of twenty 4 coloured reduction linocut prints. It was inspired by the warm athmosphere that the lights reflected from the windows of St. Patricks Cathedral in Melbourne create.
It was hand carved and hand printed with a baren on a Hahnemuhle 150gsm paper with Caligo Safe Wash oil based inks.
Due to the artisanal nature of the process there are minor irregularities and stains on the paper which was also handcut, the picture might not be centered.

Artist Bio

Virna Mulino is a Melbourne-based classically trained artist working mainly with acrylics and watercolour with a passion for lino cuts and fiber.
In her work she is in a constant search for an aesthetic ideal, creating whimsical abstract (and sometimes non) fantasy worlds; fragments of joy and excitement where viewers can immerse themselves in an imaginative journey, finding vistas of vibrant and playful bursts of colour and moments of inward reflection, lifting their spirit while constructing their own reality; giving shape and form to a bridge that connects the dots between what they see and what they think.
