Artwork Description

“He says, "I, I have seen the world's most beautiful places
Still I feel, as If I'm a walking machine
Watching it all through a screen
There is nothing in between to me
This might as well not be real"”
Indigo Night lyrics by Tamino

This is one of the paintings on paper of my new series “Amorphous Landscapes”. I let my imagination carry me to the landscapes of my dreams. Acrylic is directly poured, smeared, scraped on the paper and then the shapes are redefined with more coats of paint.

The frame in the photo is for display purposes only. It has to be framed at put under glass.

Artist Bio

Virna Mulino is a Melbourne-based classically trained artist working mainly with acrylics and watercolour with a passion for lino cuts and fiber.
In her work she is in a constant search for an aesthetic ideal, creating whimsical abstract (and sometimes non) fantasy worlds; fragments of joy and excitement where viewers can immerse themselves in an imaginative journey, finding vistas of vibrant and playful bursts of colour and moments of inward reflection, lifting their spirit while constructing their own reality; giving shape and form to a bridge that connects the dots between what they see and what they think.
