Artwork Description

I think the Rocks area in Sydney is one of the most interesting places. So much history.

The Observer Tavern was constructed in 1848 as a two storeyed, six room public house and was demolished in 1908.
For extra income the landlord of the Observer Tavern had arranged to have inquests there. The usual fee was 10 shillings per inquest.
The drawing is on cartridge paper. the mediums are pencil and ink.The drawing is under glass

Artist Bio

I was born in Devon England and immigrated to Australia with my husband and two daughters.
I am a self- taught artist, painting mainly landscapes and buildings.
I have had several exhibitions at various galleries in the St George and Sutherland area and I have also won first prize at the Oyster Bay Festival of Arts plus other secondary prizes.
I started in oil colours but am now using watercolours also.
I hope you like my paintings as much as I enjoy painting them.
