Artwork Description

Whimsical image of a village from my houses series - combination of collage and painting.

It presents an abstract row of colorful homes, each with distinct shapes and warm tones that evoke a gentle, sunlit atmosphere. The watercolor medium blends soft edges and translucent layers, revealing subtle textures throughout the composition.

This piece expresses a tranquil neighborhood scene with a hint of nostalgia, making it a thoughtful addition to enrich any living or workspace.

Artist Bio

Thank you for visiting my page.

I am self-taught. Largely, working on canvas and paper, I apply various materials and techniques for added interest and texture, usually incorporating collage into my pieces.

I am interested in a range of styles and subjects, but am principally inspired by color and form. I am fascinated by illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages and often use gold/silver leaf to add a sense of luminosity to my images.

My work explores small, quiet moments of beauty and the way they linger in our memory—whether in a forest under a glowing moon, a vase of tulips on a table, or a single butterfly suspended in space. I’m drawn to familiar subjects from nature and everyday life, and I use them as a way to slow down and invite the viewer into a more contemplative state.

Working in a slightly impressionistic style, I focus on mood and atmosphere rather than strict realism. I’m interested in how a few carefully placed shapes, a shift in color temperature, or the softness of an edge can completely change the emotional tone of a piece.

Ultimately, my works are invitations to pause. They reflect acceptance of everyday beauty, asking the viewer to look a little longer and find stillness, wonder, and a touch of magic in ordinary things.

I am drawn to small art format because it gives me the freedom to explore various techniques and materials in an immediate and accessible manner.
