Created in a meditative state, “Pause and Re-think” is an abstract expression of reflection and transformation. As I painted, I allowed my intuition to guide each movement—layering colours freely, letting emotions and thoughts flow through my hands.
The process began with vibrant, lively colours, representing the goals and dreams we set for ourselves. Yet, as I introduced black, those bright hues became obscured, echoing the moments in life when challenges and disappointments cloud our vision and dampen our spirit.
But transformation is always possible. By pausing and embracing a moment of stillness, we allow wisdom (represented by purple) and renewal (greens and light greens) to re-enter our lives. The painting shifts from darkness to a more vibrant, hopeful energy—reminding us that, even after setbacks, we can always pause, reflect, and choose a new direction.
This piece invites viewers to ask themselves:
Have I achieved what I set out to do?
If so, does it bring me fulfillment?
If not, what might I need to re-examine or release?
“Pause and Re-think” is a visual meditation on growth, resilience, and the power of self-reflection to bring new opportunities and transformation.
