Artist Statement
“Vocation” Oil on canvas over board 122 x 92 cm
The sea holds ships; ships need people; and people wear hats. These hats symbolize the tradition of a career at sea and the people who choose it.
"Warren Lane was born in Melbourne. He is a painter working predominantly in oils however he includes acrylic and different drawing mediums in his work. He has exhibited work in solo and collaboratively since 2005. Warren has also had success in local and national art competitions including first prize in the Bald Archys in 2013. He is represented in public and private collections both in Australia and abroad."
