Artist Wayne is a man of many talents!
Living on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW, Wayne developed a passion and love of art and nature. From an early age Wayne entered and won many school and state art competitions. Although Wayne is predominately self-taught, he has studied oils with renowned Australian Artist Robert Doyle and completed Graphic Design studies through TAFE. Wayne has also attended Sydney’s Julian Ashton Art School where he studied life drawing and portraiture.
“I love creating, and I am not bound by just one medium. I have diversified to include works with oil, digital art, photography, animation, clay and sculpture”.
“My creativity is derived from the many things that I enjoy such as bushwalking, hiking, camping, diving and bike riding”.
“Nature is my inspiration! This is when I think about art, focus and create my ideas. It is my meditation”.
Wayne has an affinity for Australia and its history, especially in relation to the Australian Aborigine and our War Veterans and Australian Wildlife.
Wayne has completed an important and historical body of work entitled the ANZAC Portrait Series. It began in 2011 when Wayne presented a painting to his Father-in-Law, WWII Airman James du Boulay for his 92nd birthday. The painting featured Jim at home surrounded by his antiques and war medals.
The series has expanded to include a portrait and video story consisting of photos, souvenirs, memorabilia and information of over 16 WWII Diggers and Servicemen.
