This painting is inspired by a trip through the Sunshine Coast hinterland where there are still rural pockets engaging in various farming practices. This farm was nestled down in a valley and with the late afternoon light made for great subject matter especially with the winding road into the property and pools of surface water left after summer rain. This painting is more detailed than my usual looser approach to painting and has been extensively worked with texture and multiple glazes to re-create the luminous effect of afternoon light.
