I grew up on Far North Coast of NSW. After becoming a primary school teacher, visual art and creative projects were a part of my everyday life. I have explored most areas of visual arts, including textiles, ceramics, print making, oil painting and paper crafts. Returning to the Far north coast of NSW, after 20 years living in big cities, I have found inspiration in the ever -changing tranquil environment where I live. The far north coast has so many diverse environments to explore, be it ocean, bushland , rainforest or aspects of our unique community I Love nature and old things that have a story. Painting is my happy place.
I am Inspired by the interpretation of light, colour, harmony and abstract shapes of traditional impressionist painters such as Monet , by the Australian artist Margaret Olley and the bright colours of Claire Bremmer. My style is has become looser in technique and my exploration of new colours, is bringing more energy to my work.
