WENDY WADE was born in England and came to Australia in 1976. She has lived in and taken inspiration from Sydney’s inner west, east and north shore. She started painting 20 years ago and has studied drawing, printmaking, watercolour, mixed media and collage; she uses all of these techniques in her creations.
Wendy’s work is generous and vibrant. One critic has described her work as “voluptuous”. Her use of form in her abstract landscapes translate directly from her nude studies.
Her current work is asking the viewer to lose themselves in the complex layers of colours and shapes that form the figures in her work.
Wendy has exhibited since 2002 in Sydney and has been involved in several group and solo exhibitions. Her works are represented in private collections in Sydney, Brisbane and the UK.
