Fleeting Eternity

As an artist, I am deeply fascinated by the interplay of shapes, colours and textures, and this mixed media painting is a reflection of that fascination.

A contemporary artwork filled with movement and colour, it is full of collaged shapes and imagery of old English pound notes. This piece is inspired by the ten-pound tourists who journeyed from far away to settle in Australia. Their story of new beginnings is deeply woven into the fabric of this artwork.

In this artwork, I sought to capture the chaotic beauty of abstract forms and the vibrant energy they can convey. The use of bold, contrasting colours and dynamic shapes is intended to evoke a sense of movement and spontaneity, inviting the viewer to engage with the artwork on a visceral level. Each element in the composition is carefully placed to create a harmonious yet unpredictable visual experience.

Through this painting, I explore the boundaries of abstraction and challenge the viewer's perception of order and chaos while honouring the legacy of those who embarked on a transformative journey to shape their destinies.

She also investigates themes of the Australian Outback as they relate to rural life and an ever changing environment. Works such as the “Flooded Plains” series, with imagery composed of dots, colours, line work and abstract patterning, yield a complex ancient journey.
