Artwork Description

A bright artwork depicting the movements of fish and nature beneath the surface of the sea.
A contemporary style‚ much from imagination‚ but inspired by the Great Barrier Reef in North Queensland‚ Australia.

Artist Bio

Best known for her whimsical, bright, boat and fish compositions, Wendy Eriksson creates images with successive layers of mixed media with an interest in spontaneity. Her colourful works are expressive and dramatic with an emphasis on the energy of the painter’s mark. She finds the artistic process exciting as it opens the gates for happy accidents that extend beyond just the materials.

She also investigates themes of the Australian Outback as they relate to rural life and an ever changing environment. Works such as the “Flooded Plains” series, with imagery composed of dots, colours, line work and abstract patterning, yield a complex ancient journey.

Wendy continues to explore a fascination with life on and under the water.
