Artwork Description

Silent Symphony is a dynamic and expressive piece that captures the essence of nature's beauty through bold colours and abstract forms.

The painting features a bouquet in a vase rendered in a striking palette of turquoise, magenta and earthy browns. The energetic brushstrokes and layered textures create a sense of movement and vitality, making the composition both captivating and thought-provoking.

The juxtaposition of cool and warm tones adds depth and contrast, drawing the viewer's eye to the intricate details and the overall harmony of the piece.

As an artist, I am deeply inspired by the natural world and the emotions it evokes. This piece is a celebration of the vibrant and ever-changing beauty of flora, capturing a moment of life and energy.

I aim to evoke a sense of wonder and appreciation for the intricate patterns and colours found in nature, encouraging viewers to see the world through a lens of creativity and imagination.

Artist Bio

Best known for her whimsical, bright, boat and fish compositions, Wendy Eriksson creates images with successive layers of mixed media with an interest in spontaneity. Her colourful works are expressive and dramatic with an emphasis on the energy of the painter’s mark. She finds the artistic process exciting as it opens the gates for happy accidents that extend beyond just the materials.

She also investigates themes of the Australian Outback as they relate to rural life and an ever changing environment. Works such as the “Flooded Plains” series, with imagery composed of dots, colours, line work and abstract patterning, yield a complex ancient journey.

Wendy continues to explore a fascination with life on and under the water.
